Sullia, Dec 7: "It is very much necessary that corona guidelines are strictliy followed when allowing traditional rituals of the temples because of corona fears. In the previous meeting, it was decided to give a go by to the ritual of Ede Snana this year because of coronavirus risks involved. However, a final decision will be taken after holding discussions with the deputy commissioner. This time, there will not be any provision to undertake street vending and Santhe business during the festival," said Puttur assistant commissioner, Dr Yatish Ullal, who happens to be the administrative officer of the said temple.

He was speaking at the preliminary meeting relating to the Champa Shashti festival being held at Kukke Subrahmanya temple, here on Sunday December 6.

Temple development committee president and MLA S Angara, who presided over the meeting, said that it is necessary to ensure that the devotees coming to the temple do not face any problems.

Several devotees pleaded to make provision for the devotees to perform the 'Brahmarathotsava' service as in the past. This service has been omitted this time. The administrative officer promised to take a decision soon. It was decided to issue passes to the devotees in order to avoid jostling and formation of huge crowds when pulling the temple chariot.
