Mumbai: Train runs over 3 family members, one seriously injured

Mumbai, Dec 20: On Saturday morning three members of a family from Virardied were killed and a 10-year-old girl was severely injured after being hit by a goods train. The accident took place between Nalasopara and Vasai stations.

The railway police are investigating whether it is suicide or accident. The deceased are identified as Nanda Jangam (55), her son Somnath (35), daughter Pramila Phadtare (31). 10-year-old daughter Samiksha was lying along the tracks with head injuries and is admitted in the hospital.

Nanda's husband, Popat, reached the police station and identified them. He also told that his family had gone out for a walk around 5.30 am.
