Mumbai, Dec 21: The probe into the 'fatka' robbery led the police to a minor who was involved with the theft of phones from a commuter. The accused had allegedly sold the phones two men. The men were arrested and the minor detained. The victim, Raj Thakur (49), was travelling from Andheri to Kandivali in the first-class coach of a slow WR local on December 10.

As the train approached Kandivali at around 3 pm, Thakur was standing at the door. He felt something hit his hand and accidentally dropped both his phones onto the tracks. Later, Thakur lodged a complaint with the Borivali government railway police (GRP) chowky, a report by TOI stated.

A police team found out who was involved in the crime and laid a trap at Wadarpada, Kandivali. However, they realised that the accused was a 17-year-old minor boy, who was detained. The teenager led the police to two men who had purchased the stolen phones from him -- Bhayander resident Arun Agarwal (42) and Kandivli resident Chetan Dube (22). Both were tracked down and the police recovered the phones from them on December 14.
