Karwar, Dec 27: A person identified as Manikanta from Sirsi has filed a complaint against his wife, accusing her of kidnapping her own daughter.
The alleged abductor has been identified as Roopa Sirsikar. Her daughter, Rutika had recently fallen in love with youth from Basaveshwar Nagar, Sirsi, and married him against the wishes of her mother. The complainant said that angered by her mother's action, Roopa abducted her.
"Roopa arrived at her daughter's home along with Kiran and four to five other young men, sprayed pepper spray at the members of the family of Rutika's husband, and forcibly took away her daughter," the husband claimed. He has requested the police to find his daughter, rescue here and offer her protection.
