Mangaluru: Assault, looting at Ullal, Bunder - Two including auto rickshaw driver arrested

Mangaluru, Dec 28: Ullal police have arrested two people, including an auto rickshaw driver, in the case related to assault and looting of two people at Ullal.

Mohammad Tousif and Saifuddin, residents of Kodi and Mastikatte respectively are the arrested accused.

On December 25, When Prabhudeva came out of his house on Bibi Alabi road and speaking on the mobile phone, he was hit by a wooden log on the head and his mobile was snatched by the assailants, who arrived on auto rickshaw.

The same accused people took a person called Jafar on the pretext of hire from Thokottu and made him get down at Bhagavathi temple road at Ullal and hit him with a wooden log and snatched his gold, mobile and cash.

Two separate cases were registered in this regard at Ullal and Bunder police stations of the city. The police were successful in arresting the culprits within two days of the incident. The operation was held by sub-inspector Sivakumar and team under the guidance of station officer Sandeep Kumar of Ullal police station.
