Bengaluru: CM felicitates retiring chief secretary Vijay Bhaskar

Bengaluru, Dec 28: Chief minister B S Yediyurappa on Monday felicitated Karnataka Chief Secretary T M Vijay Bhaskar, who will be retiring on December 31.

The 1983-batch IAS officer, Vijay Bhaskar, turned 60 on Monday. He was appointed as the state chief secretary by the Congress-JD(S) coalition government headed by JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy in 2018. He took over from Ratna Prabha.



The Yediyurappa-led BJP government headed by Yediyurappa had continued the services of Vijay Bhaskar. The Yediyurappa government is yet to announce the name of Vijay Bhaskar’s successor. The state cabinet has authorised the chief minister to finalise and announce the name of the next chief secretary.

Along with the chief minister, the three BJP deputy chief ministers Govind M Karjol, Dr C N Ashwath Narayan and Laxman Savadi as well as large and medium industries minister Jagadish Shettar and forest minister Anand Singh accompanied Yediyurappa in felicitating Vijay Bhaskar.
