No threat to Udupi from Britain strain of Covid at present - DC

Udupi, Dec 29: "Currently, Udupi has no threat from Britain strain of Covid," said Udupi deputy commissioner (DC) G Jagadeesha.

In his recent video message to the public, the DC said, "As many as 36 people had returned to Udupi district from London. The health department traced all the returnees. All the persons tested negative. But even then, they have been advised to strictly follow 14 days’ of home quarantine. All the people who were in close contact of these 36 individuals are also being monitored. If any symptoms are found, they will be tested again. But currently, Udupi has no cases of Britain origin Covid strain.”

He also advised the public to strictly follow wearing of mask and social distancing measures.
