Udupi: Court dismisses Vijay Ballal's claim on Ambalpady temple ownership

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (SP)

Udupi, Dec 31: An appeal filed by Dr Ni Bi Vijay Ballal, trustee of Ambalpady Lord Janardhana and Mahakali temple, seeking to vest with him the ownership of the said temple, has been turned down by a court here.

Vijay Ballal had argued that the above temple belongs to Nidambur lineage and therefore rightfully he should have been given the ownership of this temple. He had filed an appeal six years back, questioning an earlier order. Chief district and sessions court judge, Subrhamanya J N, rejected the appeal.

Earlier, Ballal had questioned the taking over of the temple by the state government through a petition filed in the civil court here in the year 2003. It was rejected in 2013. Thereafter, he went on an appeal against this order, which has now been quashed.
