Karkala, Jan 1: Two youngsters were writing 'Happy New Year' on the road near Mijar on the national highway at Bajagoli when they were crushed to death by a car.
The youngsters, as a goodwill gesture, were welcoming the new year by writing the wishes in huge letters on the road at around 10.30 pm on Thursday December 31 when an Eeco car hit them.
Both the youngsters, it is learnt, were locals. Before passing away, they were writhing in pain at the spot of the accident for some time, it is gathered. More details are awaited.
