Mumbai: Police equipped with Segway electric scooters for patrolling

Mumbai, Jan 03: Maharashtra Police force will now monitor and patrol the city on two-wheeled, self-balancing Segway electric scooters. The state government on Saturday presented the Segway electric scooters for Mumbai Police. This has been done to modernise the Maharashtra Police force.

The ceremony was attended by Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh and Tourism Minister Aditya Thackeray. Mumbai's Commissioner of Police Parambir Singh and Deputy Commissioner Vishwas Nagre Patil was also present at the venue.

To encourage the Mumbai Police Bollywood star Akshay Kumar was also present.
