Kaup: Two die in separate accidents at Pangal

Kaup, Jan 4: In two separate accidents which happened at Pangal in the taluk on Sunday January 3, two pedestrians were killed.

On Sunday morning, Krishnappa Poojary (66) who was standing by the roadside near Pangala diversion, was hit by an Innova car that was moving towards Udupi from Mangaluru. Poojary died on the spot. The car after hitting Poojary sped away without stopping. The police launched an operation and took the car into custody at Kundapur later. A sthecooty rider was also injured in the accident after the scooty skidded and fell. The injured was identified as Vishwanath Shetty from Koppalangady.

In the other case, Krishnappa Poojary (77) from Marne who was crossing the road on Sunday afternoon was hit by a car, causing his death instantly. He was walking to a spot in Pangala to participate in a function there when the accident happened. The scooter belonging to him was also seized. The car has been seized, and case against the concerned is registered in Kaup police station.
