Bantwal, Jan 4: The SDPI office in Meginapatel, Vittal on Sunday night was reportedly set on fire by miscreants. The incident came to light on the morning of Monday, January 4. The front door of the office was set on fire. As paint tins were found at the spot of the incident, it is suspected that paint was used to set fire. The Vittal police arrived at the spot and conducted an inspection.

Reacting to the incident, SDPI leader Kalandar Parthippady and Shakir Alakemajalu said, "SDPI-backed candidates had a landslide victory in the recent gram panchayat elections. The party is being maligned with false accusations after that. The current incident is the continuation of that propaganda. The suspects should be arrested immediately,” they urged.
