Bantwal, Jan 4: Vittal block SDPI activists held protests in front of the SDPI office after miscreants set fire to it.

The activists shouted slogans against Sangh Parivar and BJP urging the police to arrest the suspects immediately. Vittal police who arrived the spot requested the agitators to withdraw their protest as they were planning to conduct a protest rally till the police station. SI Rajesh K V spoke to the protesters assuring that the suspects will be arrested. The protesters warned the police that they will resume the protest if the suspects were not arrested within the next 24 hours.

SDPI leader Khalandhar Parthippady stressed that there are some who cannot tolerate the growth of SDPI in the state and the district are directly responsible for the incident. Sangh Parivar and BJP are hatching conspiracies in this connection. Setting fire to the office is a part of this conspiracy, he said.

Shakir Alakemajalu stated that he is confident that Sangh Parivar and BJP are behind it. "SDPI will not bow down in front of anything that is intended to suppress the party. The incidents are happening following some of the provocative statements by some BJP leaders," he said.

Puttur town committee president Bashir Koornadka, Aziz Kadambu Rahim Vittal, Rafik Ponnottu and others were present.
