Kasargod, Jan 5: The state high court has granted conditional bail to Manjeshwar MLA M C Qamaruddin in the first three cases relating to the charge of cheating the people after collecting deposit for fashion gold jewellery concern in which he was a partner.
The high court has prescribed that Qamaruddin has to provide deposit of one lac rupees for each of the cases and restrained him from entering the limits of the police stations in which cases against him have been lodged by depositors for a period of three months.
However, there is no clarity as yet whether he would be freed from the prison as he has been facing several other cases filed in different police stations. In addition to Kasargod, complaints have also been lodged against him in some police stations in Kannur district.
