Mangaluru, Jan 6: “People from Elyar Padav private resort have encroached the drainage beside the main road in Harekala village to construct a compound wall. The encroached land should be vacated immediately,” urged DYFI Harekala village committee.

“The road that connects Harekala and Kuthar is narrow and has several curves. The people from Elyar Padav private resort have dug a pit beside the road, erected cement poles and constructed a compound wall. It will pose problems for vehicle drivers and pedestrians using the road. The panchayat officials have turned a deaf ear to the encroachment by influential people,” the committee said.

“DYFI Harekala village committee condemns the act. The panchayat officials should conduct spot inspection and vacate the encroached area. DYFI will join villagers and campaign against the illegal encroachment if the officials bow down to the pressure by the influential people,” stated DYFI in a press release.
