Mumbai, Jan 11: A programme to pay homage to the late Chandrashekar Rao on his death anniversary was held by Chandrashekar Rao Memorial Trust and Chukki Sankula Lekhaka Kalavidara Balaga at Usha Nagar, Bhandup last Saturday evening.

Trustee Sridevi Chandrashekar Rao presided over the programme. Poet and story writer Dr K Govinda Bhat was the Chief Guest. A photo album of the memories of the programmes of the trust was released.

Govinda Bhat commended the works of Chandrashekar Rao. He read a poem which won an award for him recently.

Sridevi Rao shared the details about the birth of the trust, its motto and its intentions. She said that a meeting of poets is being held by the trust every year to encourage new authors.

Dr G P Kusuma presented the poems of late Chandrashekar Rao. Specially invited poets Dr Karunaker Shetty Paniyoor, Dr Rajani Pai, Lalitha Prabhu Angadi, Kusuma C Ameen, Saroja Amati, Shoha Shetty and Vijaya Govinda Bhat read their poems. Vijaya Gowda and Saroja Amati sang the poems. Prabhavati Shenoy, Shaila Shetty, Shashikala Katri and others were present. Annual scholarships were presented to poor students.

Poet and story writer Gopala Trasi gave a keynote address, compered the programme and proposed a vote of thanks.
