Mangaluru: 'Budget focused on impetus to Atmanirbhar Bharat' - Ravishankar Mijar

Mangaluru, Feb 3: Mangaluru Urban Development Authority, Ravishankar Mijar on Wednesday, February 3 said that the union budget for the year 2021 tabled by the finance minister Nirmala Sitharam was historic and will give an impetus to Atmanirbhar Bharat or self-reliant India by promoting growth and creating employment in the country.

He was speaking during a press meet here at the district BJP office.

It is a historic budget as Rs 4.78 lac crore has been allocated for defence for the year 2021-22, Ravishankar said.

He said that several nations have shown interest in buying indigenous Tejas aircraft. Initially, HAL will manufacture 40 jets as per the order.

"In the country per day, 40 kms of road construction is going on. The government has allocated Rs 93,274 crore for the construction of 15 model education schools and 150 Sainik schools in the country. The government has allocated Rs 35,000 crore towards COVID-19 vaccine, which would facilitate the provision of vaccines to 75,000 crore people in the country. Rs 2,23,846 crore has been allocated for health and well-being under the PM Atmanirbhar Swasth Bharat Yojana, with an outlay of about Rs 64,180 crores over 6 years. The government has allocated funds to develop five places in the country as fisheries hub and seven textile parks in the country," Ravishankar said.
