Mumbai: Mayor warns of another lockdown as cases surge

Mumbai, Feb 16: Witnessing a surge in Covid cases, Mumbai mayor Kishori Pednekar warned of another lockdown in the city. She said that people must take precautions in containing the virus.

"It is a matter of concern. Most people travelling in trains don't wear mask. People must take precautions else we'd head towards another lockdown," Pednekar said.

"Whether lockdown will be implemented again is in the hands of the people," she added.

For six days straight, Maharashtra witnessed daily count above 3,000 which the mayor termed as 'alarming' and warned of harsh decisions after the spike.
