Mangalore: Police Arrest Man for Molesting Teenaged Girl

Mangalore, Jul 15: A man was arrested on molestation charges in Kunjathbail by Kavoor police on Tuesday July 13.

The case was registered on Wednesday July 14 and the culprit has been identified as Vinod, a 39-year-old residing at Kunjathbail KHB Colony.

The incident took place on Sunday July 11 when he invited Shoba, a 14-year-old dumb girl from his locality to accompany him on his bike to his house to eat ice cream.

As soon as she was in his house, Vinod closed the door and tried to rape her but Shoba escaped and ran out of the house, said the police.

The investigation is still going on and the culprit was produced in court on Wednesday while the girl was taken for a medical test.

Speaking to Daijiworld, the people of the locality said that Vinod has three wives and despite this, continues to have affairs with many girls.

They said that he was an unsavoury character and would be sent away from the locality where many respectable families live in peace.
