Mangalore: MCC Organizes Contests for Students on Solid Waste Management

Mangalore, Jul 26: Competitions for students were held by the Mangalore City Corporation (MCC) on Sunday July 25, with the aim of creating awareness on solid waste management plans.

Students from various schools and colleges around the district participated in the event as well as the skit competition which was organized for the students on the topic.

District-in-charge minister Krishna J Palemar inaugurated the programme and said that the students should take the initiative on solid waste management and work on keeping the city clean and tidy by taking measures in this direction.












































MCC commissioner Vijayprakash welcomed the gathering and said that this event will help students know the importance of cleanliness and methods of keeping the city clean.

Sayyed Asif Ali painted a landscape on canvas on this occasion.

MCC Mayor Rajini Dugganna and former minister and Nagaraj Shetty, chairman, Coastal Development Authority, were also present at the programme.

    Solid Waste Management is an important and timely topic to ponder amongst all the Indians - young and old in our daily endeavor of life. With so much of population added with so much of industrial development all around, solid waste control is an important subject for everyone to take into consideration. This is a costly project that involves costly technology and costly investment that will protect our ever growing population from any kind of environmental contamination. We complement each and every city and state official that is dedicating their time and talent for this project that will help Mangalore as well as India to safeguard from any kind of hazardz by being conscious with the solid waste management. India is on the right track of progress. It is amazing to see the pictures with vibrant groups anxious to learn the solid waste management. This is a costly investment but will save millions of people to maintain good health with clean environment for the safety of themselves and the rest of the community that surrounds them.
