M'lore: Youth Forum ‘CREST’ Inaugurated on Kargil Vijaya Divas

Mangalore, Jul 27:
CREST (Creating Resource to Empower Society Today), a student organization was inaugurated during the celebration of Kargil Vijaya Divas by the Centre for Integrated Learning (CIL) in association with Canara High School Main here on Monday July 26.

Madhu, a member of the core committee of CREST introduced the chief guest Col Dinesh Naikavde, a Kargil war hero, to the audience.

Abdul Basith, the founding president of CREST explained the thoughts and ideology of this organization. Later the official logo for CREST was unveiled by the chief guest. He then spoke about his experiences in the army.

The inaugural address was delivered by Umesh Mallya, principal of Canara High School Dongerkeri. Srinivasan Nandagopal, convenor of CIL stressed on the importance of students doing their duty properly in every walk of life. Joginder Singh, a Vir Chakra recipient and Col Dinesh Naikavde mesmerized the audience with stories of their war operations. Later a few inspirational videos depicting the lives of war heroes were presented.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Ujval S, the chief communications officer of CREST and a rendition of the national anthem. Trishma Pinto was the MC for the occasion.
