Mumbai, Apr 9: Hosabettuguthu Manjayya Shetty (82) well-known hotelier of Mumbai, hailing from Bantwal Arala, passed away due to illness at KMC hospital, Mangaluru on Wednesday.

He resided at Sion and was a religious thinker assisting in the renovation of several temples. He had made donations toward renovation work at Garuda Mahakali temple in his hometown and silver for the idol of Ganapathi deity.

He has left behind his wife Girija M Shetty, sons Brijesh Shetty, daughter Dr Thejaswi S Shetty, son-in-law Dr Sachin Alva, friends and relatives.
