Rain in Mangaluru on Wednesday night

A fisherman identified as N Baburaj (40) from Kasargod died when he was engaged in fishing on Monday night at sea after lightning struck. Three others who were with him escaped with minor injuries.

Rivers Netravati, Phalguni etc are in full flow again, and the Thumbe dam registered an increase of 20 cm. The farmers are happy as their plantations are getting water and they need not run pump sets all through to get water. Assistant executive engineer, Yashwant Prabhu, said that the water level in Thumbe dam has risen to 5.7 metres and hence the city will not face shortage of water this season. The AMR dam that is located a little higher than Thumbe dam, is full.
