Mangalore: New Members Join Bajpe Rotary Zone during Convention

Mangalore, Aug 2: Rotary International, with a history of over a century, has engaged in fostering global peace and rendering social service to promote universal brotherhood. It is a privilege for an individual to get its membership, said Rotary district former assistant governor B Pundalik Marate.

Marate was the key resource person at the Rotary zonal convention held under Rotary International district 3180 at St Joseph’s Pre-University College auditorium, Bajpe, here on Sunday August 1. The convention aimed at recruiting new members.

Marate called on the members to strengthen the organization by identifying professionalism, societal concern and attitude for service among individuals while recruiting members.

Ramesh Bhandary, zonal assistant governor inaugurated the convention, and urged the members to focus their resources and energies to get more members and work towards the success of Rotary’s social welfare projects.

Membership drive zonal director M N Dhanakirti, zonal lieutenants P Manohar Rao Kaup and Gerald Coutinho Karkala conveyed their best wishes. Rotary Club service director Robert Rego was present. New memberships were issued to Ganesh P Shetty and Praveen Shetty on the occasion.

Secretary Chandrashekar Poojary proposed the vote of thanks.
