Karkala: Rotary Donates Five Computers to St Joseph School, Belman

Karkala, Aug 28: The work of Rotary International in providing various amenities to rural schools and striving to improve the education standard in the country is highly commendable, said public instruction department director Vasant M of Nandalike Cluster under Karkala Zone.

He was speaking as a chief guest at a function organized to donate five computers and a water purification machine under global community service project by Rotarty Club, Mulky, Rotray Shirva, Austin University Rotary, USA and Rotary International at St Joseph Higher Primary School, Belman.

Mulky Rotary president Balachandra Sanil presided and welcomed the gathering. “In the present era computer literacy is a must. It has to be taught right from the primary level so that the children gain maximum computer knowledge”, said district Rotary former assistant governor B Pundalika Marate.

St Joseph school teacher Vincent Pinto thanked the Rotary on behalf of the school. School headmistress Sr Monica, Shirva Rotary president Edwin Rodrigues, global community service project director and Mulki Rotary former president Donald Pramodhan, William Maben, Herald Cutinho, Shirva and Ravichandra Mulki among others were present.
