Mangaluru, Jun 26: Mahendra, a resident of Ramasamudra, Chamarajanagar suffering from a mental illness and sheltered at Snehalaya orphanage, Manjeshwar was cured and returned to his hometown after ten years.

Mahendra and his father ran his business after his education. However, he lost his mental balance and was unable to recover. He was escorted to Tirupathi temple hoping for a miraculous cure but went missing among the temple crowd. His family members looked for him and lodged a missing person’s complaint at Chamarajanagar police station but he could not be traced.

Joseph Crasta of Snehalaya who had gone to work found Mahendra on Mangaluru – Bengaluru national highway and brought him to Snehalaya. Joseph Crasta cleaned him, gave him good food and looked after him well. He constantly tried to interact with Mahendra. Mahendra changed gradually and shared details of his hometown. The Snehalaya team contacted the family members and escorted him to his hometown.

The parents of Mahendra who had no communication with their son for ten years shed tears of joy expressing their gratitude to Snehalaya.
