Kadaba: Death of man during police check - People vandalize police tent

Kadaba, Jun 29: In a road accident which happened on Tuesday June 29 at Athoor in Ramakunja village in the taluk, A P Haris (35), son of Puthumonu, died on the spot.

Kadaba police sub-inspector, Rukma Naik, had stopped Haris who was moving in his vehicle and checked his vehicle records. When Haris was returning to his two-wheeler by crossing the road after the police checking, a Tata Ace vehicle hit him, killing him instantly.

A gang of young men which came to know about the death of Haris due to police checking, reached the spot and demolished the temporary shed pitched for the police. It also damaged the barricades. Realizing that the situation was going out of control, the police caned the crowd and dispersed it.

Haris, who was working abroad, had recently returned to his home town. He was waiting for the lockdown to end as he wanted to go back. The accident happened when he was moving towards Athoor with his wife on the pillion on Tuesday.
