Bengaluru: Malabar Gold & Diamonds organises 1000 free covid-19 vax doses for underprivileged

Bengaluru, Jul 1: Intensifying its fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, Malabar Gold & Diamonds, the leading jewellery retailer with a strong global retail network of over 260 outlets spread across 10 countries, organised a free vaccination drive wherein 1000 vaccine doses were administered to underprivileged populations and BPL cardholders on July 1 at Forum Mall, Koramangala in the city.

While 500 vaccines administered to underprivileged populations and BPL cardholders associated with Thanal NGO and Narayana Hrudalaya Hospital were executed in the vaccination drive, another 500 vaccines were administered to goldsmith workers affiliated to the Karnataka Bengali Swarna Shilpi Association and Shri Vishwakarma Seva Samiti.

“Immunization against the pandemic is key to curb its spread as the country anticipates the emergence of the third wave of Covid-19. This vaccination drive is a reaffirmation of our resolve to strengthen the nationwide vaccination initiatives. We shall continue to use our resources, infrastructure and network to broaden our outreach towards low-income and vulnerable population and bring them within the ambit of vaccination,” said M P Ahammed, Chairman, Malabar group. He further reiterated that the Malabar group would continue to do everything within its capacity to safeguard the health and well-being of its team-members, partner networks and the greater society at large.
