Mangaluru: Customs officials confiscate gold worth Rs 20.89 lac at international airport

Mangaluru, Jul 3: Customs officials at the international airport in the city confiscated gold on Friday, July 2, that was being transported illegally.

A resident of Kasargod had arrived at the international airport from Dubai on Air India Express flight. During physical scanning, it was noticed that he was carrying 430 grams of gold in his rectum as per the details published by Customs officials. The value of this is estimated to be Rs 20.89 lac.

Deputy commissioner of Customs Praveen Kandi, officers Rakesh Kumar, Vikas Kumar and Bikram Chakravarthy were involved in the operation.
