Bantwal, Jul 3: A programme by BJP to felicitate Bantwal residents who struggled during the declaration of emergency in the country and share the bitter memories of emergency was held by the Bantwal block committee at Rangoli hall, B C Road on Saturday.

Bantwal MLA, Rajesh Naik Ulippadi said that the country is progressing under able leadership as a result of resistance during emergency in the country. “The selfless service of the campaigners is invaluable.”

Former MLA Rukmaya Poojary, Keonics president K Harikrishna Bantwal and former MLA K Padmanabha Kothary shared their experience of the emergency.

BJP district chief secretary Ramadasa Bantwal was on the dais. Bantwal block BJP president Devappa Poojary spoke. Party’s Purushotham Shetty Vamadapadavu, BJP block chief secretary Dombaya Arala and Ravish Shetty Karkala shared responsibilities.
