Udupi: Association of D K Shivakumar's fans donates kits to 1,000 people

Udupi, Jul 7: “We should not expect anything in return for favours by us. The service of mankind is equal to the service of the almighty,” said KPCC state president D K Shivakumar.

He was speaking after distributing kits to 1,000 people belonging to the poor and medium class by the Congress campaign committee and D K Shivaram fans association on the first anniversary of taking over charge as KPCC president at Mathura Inn on Tuesday.

“Congress activists have come forward to serve the people. Distribution of kits to 1,000 people is commendable. Many families have lost their earning members due to Covid-19. Congress workers should make sure that compensation announced by the government reaches them. The applications for them are available with the Congress district president,” he said.

District president Ashok Kumar Kodavoor, former minister Vinay Kumar Sorake, former MLA Gopala Poojary, youth Congress’s Harris Nalpad, AICC secretary P V Mohan, Congress office-bearers Veronica Cornelio, Amratha Krishnamurthy, Deepak Kotian, Prakhyath Shetty, Mamatha Shetty, Dr Sunita Shetty, Kishan Hegde K, Habib Ali, Geeta Vagle, Navin Shetty, Celina Karkada, Harish Shetty, Prashanth Jathanna, Navin Shetty, Shamala Sudhaker, Vinay Poojary, Vinay Raj, Anil Kumar, Harish Kini, Charan Raj Bangera, Saurabh Ballal, Yuvaraj Puttur, Mohammed Zameer, Sandhya Tilak, Lata Anand Sherigar, Guruprasad, Sharath Shetty and others were present.

Udupi Vidhan Sabha constituency Congress campaign committee president Krishna Murthy Acharya welcomed the gathering. Sathish Chitrapadi compered the programme.
