Former youth Congress district president warns of protests against Karkala MLA

Karkala, Jul 9: Former youth Congress district president Vishwas Ameen condemned the police atrocities against Congress party activist Radhakrishna Hirgana on Thursday.

Addressing the Karkala MLA, he said that a person had lodged a police complaint over a post against the country from a fake ID that looked like that of Radhakrishna Hirgana about a year ago. “The matter is sorted now.”

“Law is one to all. We do not have objections to taking legal action for crimes. But we will campaign against police atrocities beyond the purview of the law. We will not remain quiet over police atrocities against Congress activists. DSP and IGP should take immediate action in this connection. Protests in front of your office will be inevitable otherwise.

“The police violence has crossed the limit. Such incidents have occurred against Congress activists, journalists and those who questioned your irregularities in Karkala in the past. Human rights are violated in the case. The situation has become worse than emergency days. If the situation continues like a dictatorship, the matter will be brought to the notice of our state leaders and Karkala Chalo protests will be held against the Karkala MLA,” he warned.
