Jabs to 51.12% of students in govt, aided degree colleges in Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Jul 9: The Department of College Education has vaccinated 51.12% of students and staff in all government degree colleges, including aided colleges in BBMP limits, deputy chief minister and State Covid Task Force head, Dr C N Ashwatha Narayan said on Friday.

The city comprises eight BBMP zones and the total number of students and staff in government and aided degree colleges is 62,255. Out of this 31,826 are vaccinated as of July 8, he said.

In the student group 31,147 are vaccinated as against 59,179 which covers 52.63% and among the staff 2,518 are vaccinated as against 3076 which tallies to 81.86%, Narayan explained.

The deputy chief minister later visited the Adichunchanagiri Mutt along with Sri Nirmalananda Swami to get a Darshan of Sri Kalbhairaveshwara.
