Bengaluru, Jul 10: In an incident which happened within the limits of Siddapur police station here, a group of citizens which was told to wear masks in public places, tore up the uniform of the head constable of the station and assaulted him.

The head constable of Siddapur station, who suffered in the incident of attack, head constable of the station, Guruprasad, has filed complaint against Arbas Khan, Ezaz Khan, Salman Khan, and women, Sameena, and Shamsad, all of whom have been arrested. Another person, Mohammed who had taken part in the incident, reported fled from there. The police are searching for him.

Head constable of Siddapur station, Guruprasad and police constable, Raveesh, were on patrol duty when they got information that 30 people had illegally assembled at Guttepalya. On Jun 27, head constable Guruprasad and police constable, were approaching the gang to disperse them when they came across a man who was standing still. He was advised to wear mask and go home, at which he questioned the authority on which the police were questioning him. Along with six women who were there, the gang assaulted the police who were seated in the 'Cheetha' van. They saw a person was standing still, and asked him to go away.

The policeman said that the keys of the 'Cheetah' two wheeler were forcibly taken away and they were threatened with murder.
