Bantwal, Jul 10: An FIR is registered at the town police station against a person over assault, insults and threats to doctors and staff at the government hospital here.

A case is registered against a man named Ummar Farook on the basis of a complaint submitted by the hospital to Bantwal town police station. His wife was admitted to the maternity ward as a patient for delivery when he had asked the hospital staff at 11 pm on Friday July 10 that he wanted to see his wife. The hospital staff denied him permission citing that visitors are not permitted in the women's ward at night.

Ummar Farook however pushed the staff aside and went inside. The staff in turn informed about it to the doctor on duty who informed Ummar that entry to the maternity ward at nights is not permitted. “The accused however insulted and threatened the doctor and the staff,” states the police complaint.
