Udupi, July 14: “There should be changes in Karnataka. Let those changes begin from Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts. Uprooting BJP from Karnataka is our next aim. Ever since he became prime minister in 2012 the prime minister has been fooling people with false promises. He had promised two crore jobs every year. The crime rate has increased from 30% to 40% after the BJP led government came to power. Murders have increased. Modi only creates unrest between Hindus and Muslims,” said Karnataka Pradesh Yuva Congress committee president Raksha Ramaiah expressing anguish against the BJP government.

Speaking in a Udupi Yuva congress programme, here, he enquired about the work done by the 25 BJP MPs so far. “The chief minister has not held even a single meeting with the prime minister. The chief minister has not brought a special package for the state. Therefore, the government at the state level should change. The Youth Congress should unite and work for it.”

Udupi district Yuva Congress president Deepak Kotian addressing the meeting said that BJP pulled young people towards them by way of false propaganda. “The prime minister had said that he sold tea. Instead of giving him a tea stall, we gave him leadership as the prime minister of the country. National Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had warned of Coronavirus. The country would not have faced such a catastrophe if the government had considered him seriously.”

Nithyananda Olakadu, Ishwar, Anwar Ahmed and Dr Sunita Shetty who indulged in social work as good Samaritans were identified and felicitated.

Ashok Kumar Kodavoor, district Congress president, Vinay Kumar Sorake, former minister, Vishwas Ameen, vice president, Youth Congress, Saurabh Ballal, NSUI unit district president, national Youth Congress chief secretary Anil Yadav, Vidya Balakrishnan, Surabhi Dwivedi, state Youth Congress vice president Bhavya K R, Yuva Congress state chief secretary and Udupi district Yuva Congress-in-charge Hanuma Kishore, state secretary and Dakshina Kannada Yuva Congress-in-charge Deepika Reddy, state chief secretary H M Jyothish, Mannar Mannan, block congress presidents, Ramesh Kanchan, Harish Kini and office bearers were present.
