Mangalore: Rains Take a Break

Mangalore, Sep 17: Except Subrahmanya region in Sullia taluk, the twin-districts received very little rain on Thursday September 16. However, cloudy weather was experienced all along the day.

Comparatively, Udupi and Uttara Kannada districts received better rains, although sunshine was predominantly present there too. Good rains were received in parts of Karkala and Kundapur taluks on Thursday evening.  Ankola recorded seven cms of rain.

Koppal and Raichur districts accounted for very good rains, with Tavaregere in Koppal district receiving eight cms of rain, the highest in the state. The meteorological department prediction, valid till Saturday morning, expects normal to heavy rains in the coast and some places in the southern hinterlands, while northern hinterlands are expected to get light to normal rains.
