Mangalore, Sep 17: Basaiah Shankaraiah Hiremutt (30), an employee of VRL Logistics Ltd, died after having been hit by a car while crossing the road at Kulur in the city on Thursday September 16.
Hiremutt used to work in the sanitation department of the firm. While crossing the road to reach his workplace in Kulur on Thursday, a car that was coming from the direction of Kottara, hit him. Hiremutt, who was grievously injured in the accident, was rushed to Wenlock Hospital. However, he breathed his last later.
Basaiah, a native of Kalghatagi in Dharwad district, was working in the city since the last four years.
