Udupi: AIDS Awareness Programme Held

Udupi, Sep 17: “AIDS is a deadly disease which can very well be prevented. The major cause is unsafe sexual contact and the majority of victims are the youth”, said Dr Ashok, district AIDS Control and Prevention officer.

He was speaking as a resource person at an AIDS Awareness Programme jointly organized by district AIDS Control and Prevention Authority, REd Ribbon Club and National Service Scheme Milagres College kallianpur.

Professor Sripathi was another resource person who explained in detail the causes and effects of AIDS and also the ways of prevention.

Principal Fr Fred Mascarenhas presided. SR Alveena welcomed and Swetha compered.  Around 150 students attended the programme.
