Udupi, Sep 22: The local unit of Girls' Islamic Organizaton (GIO) conducted a get together to mark Eid Milan party at Hotel Mourya here, recently.
Guest, Neketana, co-ordinator, Government First Grade College, Tenkanidiyoor in her talk said that the character of the great personalities should be taught (repeated) in front of the new generation, so that it may reflect the good manners in the coming generation. Every religion first gives importance to humanitarian virtues and teaches the same, she stressed.
In her talk, Madhavi Bhandari, head Hindi department, Poornaprajna College gave many examples in the form of stories, which stressed on how being a human is such a blessing. She also added that the get together party for all the religion is a very good example for the new generation to follow.
In her oresidential address, Humera, JIH women's wing president, Karkala unit said these parties need to reflect the greatness of our ancestors, who passed away devoting their oneness in all field to spread unity. She also added that Allah in the form of Eid has given a special gift for the poor people to enjoy the same as all Muslim do on that day.
Myrtel Lewis, headmistress, St Mary's English School and Sunanda, HM, Hoode English School were the other guests.

GIO president of the udupi unit Farhath Dawood delivered the welcome and introductory address. GIO member Sabiha Assadi udupi unit proposed the vote of thanks.
