Bangalore: Retreat on ‘Key to Leadership’ Held

Bangalore, Sep 23: The Bangalore Catholic Charismatic Renewal Services (BCCRS), Proclamation & Evangelization Commission (Archdiocese of Bangalore) organized a growth retreat, ‘Key to leadership’ for the benefit of all leaders and members of the prayer groups and ministries Archdiocese of Bangalore at Renewal retreat centre (RRC), recently.












 

There were 180 religious and lay leaders of prayer groups, ministries, parishes who had come from various regions of Karnataka, Goa and Tamilnadu to take part in the retreat that was preached by Fr Sebastianappan Singaroyan, Bishop of Salem, George Palliparambil, Bishop of Miao and Fr Thamburaj. The retreat was in English which was translated into Kannada by Bro Mathew.

The retreat started with a welcome address by Bro Simon Rodrigues, chairman BCCRS who introduced the key topics that is Church and Laity, Evangelization and Leadership that would be preached and discussed during the retreat. The inaugural Eucharistic mass was celebrated by Fr Irdudayanathan (Ooty, Tamilnadu). The praise and worship was led by Bro Joseph Varghese and team.

The Eucharistic mass was celebrated by Dr Bernard Moras, Archbishop of Bangalore. Later a workshop was conducted by Bro Anthony Sagayaraj and Monica Sagayaraj on ‘Family’ in the afternoon. Eucharistic adoration with the Baptism of the Holy Spirit was held at the retreat hall by Fr Thamburaj.

The Praise and Worship team was led by Bro Don /and Bro Anand and team on the topic ‘Role of the Laity in the Church’, discussed by Bishop Singaroyan, (Bishop of Salem). Another session of praise of worship was led by Bro Christopher Correya and team, Fr Britto Jacob C Ss R; spiritual director BCCRS and secretary, proclamation and evangelization commission (Archdiocese of Bangalore) led the leaders in a time of prayer & worship.

Bishop George Palliparambil, Bishop of Miao covered various topics of Evangelization in the present context. The vote of thanks was rendered by Bro Simon Rodrigues, chairman, BCCRS.

The retreat concluded with a group discussion with all the leaders to receive their feedback and suggestions to conduct future events / retreats.
