Bangalore, Sep 23: The two-day holiday declared by the state government for all educational institutions in the state as a precautionary measure ahead of the pronouncement of the Ayodhya verdict has been cancelled.

As per the stay order granted by the Supreme Court, the verdict on Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute will now be given on September 29 and not on September 24 as scheduled earlier.

The B S Yeddyurappa regime, which had declared a two-day holiday for all educational institutions in the state including schools and colleges on September 24 and 25, has issued another order cancelling the holidays.

Meanwhile, the state excise department, which had announced restrictions on the sale of liquor on the two days throughout the state, has also lifted the ban.

The police authorities, who had imposed prohibitory orders in the city as well as in all districts, especially in the sensitive areas, have also revoked the prohibitory orders.

Incidentally, the orders for deployment of extra contingent of police and security forces in all communally sensitive areas throughout the state have also been cancelled. Consequently, the police and security personnel, who had been deployed to different parts of the state have been asked to return.

''We will, however, continue our vigil and be ready to move in when required. The exercises carried out as precautionary measures have served as a drill,” a senior police officer said.

Yes this issue of giving holiday and then cancelling the holiday is maddening. The children are having exams and now again another problem...Verdict postponed to 28th September 2010. So again another holiday and again exams postponed. Pity the children and their parents.
