Udupi, Oct 22: A stranger, on Thursday October 21, rang the door bell of the local municipal commissioner, Gokuldas, at around 6.30 am. As Gokul’s wife opened the door, the stranger enquired about the well-being of the commissioner, Gokuldas, who was brushing his teeth at the time. His wife, who was busy cooking the break fast, informed Gokuldas about the stranger’s visit. By the time he finished his morning ablutions and came to the hall, the stranger had disappeared from the scene.

The commissioner, who sensed that the visitor was a thief, looked for missing articles, and found to his dismay that the costly mobile phone he possessed, had gone missing. He immediately went round the area in his scooter, in search of the culprit, but failed to find him.

It is not yet certain as to whether the visitor was a professional thief or got momentarily attracted towards the above costly item. Such things have occurred in a few places in the city. Wake up and behave carefully, if some stranger knocks at your doors.
