Udupi, Oct 23: The widespread rains that have lashed the region since the evening of Thursday October 21, extensively damaged the paddy crop that had been harvested and was ready to be shifted to
farmers’ barns across the district on Friday October 22.

The crops have been submerged in rain water in several fields across Kaup, Shirva, Katpady, Manipur, Majoor, Karandady, Paniyoor, Padubelle, Moodubelle, Pangala, and neighbouring villages in the district. The farmers cannot salvage the harvested crop and this will cause heavy losses to the farming community. The loss of rice which is the staple food for many families may prove unbearable.

Durga temple in Kunjoor, Mahalingeshwar temple in Jalanchar, and Raghavendra Mutt were flooded due to the record rainfall on Friday in over 100 years of the history of the temples. The flood waters did not
touched the temple premises even during the monsoon season in all these years.

Roads across the district were flooded and traffic snarls abounded. Meanwhile, a majority of people stayed indoors since Friday was a public holiday on the occasion of Maharshi Valmiki Jayanti.

This is the result of fundamentalism and killings and violence in the name of religion, where as God is only one and ways of serving him are different and no religion is superior to other in its basic teachings. All religions preach the same taboos and morales. But when we people start fighting in the name of God, God displeases and send his wrath on us without any discrimination. So this is the time that we mend and ask for forgivness and spread love and stop hatred.

We all human beings are creation of only one God. Love has no boundaries. If we still fight in the name of God, please be prepared for greater calamities, including the loss of wealth, peace and lives of near and dear ones. This is just wake up call and tip of ice berg in God's anger. Dont attribute this problem to nature or natural. We were taught deforestation results in loss of rain, but today its proved to be wrong. This theory is like Darwin's theory of evolution which doesnt hold good as both apes and human continue to co exist.

This is nothing but Gods curse on us..... Beware before its too late. The BJP which spreads hate can they stop this rain and can they stop the destruction.....??????
