Mangalore, Oct 25: The members of Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) staged a protest in front of Mangalore City Corporation office on Monday October 25, demanding the speedy repair of roads in the city which are in a pathetic condition.

Addressing the protestors, DYFI district president Muneer Katipalla said that the city corporation has fully neglected the inner roads in the city and have only concentrated on the highways because of which people are facing so many road-related problems everyday.

He pointed out that the condition of roads in areas like Bajal,Surathkal, Urvastore, Kannur Konchady, Kavur and Shaktinagar among others is so dismal. Despite holding continuous protests and urging MCC to take measures there has been no good result. The officials only give false assurances each time, he said.

The protesters submitted a memorandum to the MCC commissioner stating the road condition in detail. DYFI City Committee president BK Imthiyaz among others were present. As many as 150 people took part in the protest.
