Udupi, Oct 15: Foundation stone laying ceremony for the yaagashale was held at Kadiyali Shri Mahishamardini temple on Friday, October 15.

Shri Shri Vishwaprasannatheertha swamiji of Pejawar mutt laid the foundation stone for the new yaagashale. Blessing the gathering he said, "We are on the last day of Navaratri. Chandika Yaaga is being conducted herein contibuosly. Today on the occasion of Vijayadashami we have laid foundation stone for the new yaagashale. Let all the devotees of Goddess be blessed with Her blessings," he said.

Speaking on the occasion Sadaashiva Prabhu, ADC Udupi said, "Religious centers should be in good condition for the development of a nation. Many religious centers are being going under renovation in recent time in this area. This indirectly helps in the development of a nation. Everyone should join their hands in this type of redevelopment of religious centers keeping in mind this will be a work towards nation building" he said.

Raghupathi Bhat, honorary president temple renovation committee on the occasion said, "Most of the Durgalayas connected to Sri Krishna Mutt are renovated already. Committee has decided upon having a copper covering for the temple. More than the committee the devotees of the temple should decide upon this. After the renovation work completes more devotees will be visiting the temple. Necessary arrangements should be made for the easy darshna for the devotees. I request the householders on the road leading to the temple to contribute their land generously when needed. We are planning for a TDR project for widening the temple road" he said.

Donors were also honored on the occasion.

Raghavendra Kini, secretary renovation committee proposed for assistance from the government for the contraction of a dining hall adjourning to the temple. Nagesh Hegde, president renovation committee Dr Raviraj V Acharya, president managing committee members of various committees and devotees were present on the occasion.
