Puttur, Oct 29: A youth fell on the electric transformer from atop a commercial complex located by the side of the bus stand here on Thursday October 28. He was admitted to a hospital in Mangalore with severe burn injuries. Parts of his body of the youth were found to have been charred.
The youth is yet to be identified. It is as yet unclear as to whether it was an accidental fall or suicide attempt. As the youth fell, huge flames emanated from the transformer due to short circuit. Power supply to the area was immediately severed, and the youth was dragged down from atop the transformer by the locals, before rushing him to hospital.
