Mangaluru, Nov 4: Amani Kamath (35), resident of Veera Venkatesh Apartment on Mahamayi temple road, in the city, has alleged that her husband Vinayak Kamath, was murdered by Krishnananda Kini and his son Avinash Kini, residing in the same complex.
Amani stated in her complaint made to the city (north) police station that she has been a resident of flat No 108 of the said complex for the last five years. Her husband, son and mother-in-law are the other residents of this flat. She does tailoring jobs and her husband was a tour manager of Vikram Travels here.
"A few days back, the city corporation people had repaired the damaged portion of the spot adjacent to the entrance gate of the apartment with concrete. On the issue of cars of other people passing through this repaired spot, Krishnananda Kini, residing in flat No. 101, fought with my husband. Krishnananda Kini apparently nursed enmity against my husband on this issue. When a few residents of the apartment were bursting crackers at about 11 pm on November 3, my husband went to the ground floor. Krishnananda Kini and his son Avinash, started to quarrel with my husband at the parking area. I and my mother-in-law rushed down after hearing their shouts and we saw Krishnananda Kini stabbing my husband with a knife in the chest. Avinash Kini too was repeatedly saying that he would not spare my husband. Krishnananda Kini was driven by the aim of killing my husband. Hearing the commotion, some other residents of the apartment came there, and one of the residents, Nirav Shah, along with my mother-in-law and others took my husband to Yenepoya Hospital. I and my son were at home. My mother-in-law told me that my husband died at 1.40 am on Thursday without responding to treatments," she explained in her complaint.
On the basis of her complaint, a case has been filed under section 302 of Indian Penal Code in the city north police station. Further investigation is on.
