Udupi: Thieves strike in family members’ absence, steal things worth Rs 2.1 lac

Udupi, Nov 10: Chandra Putran from Malpe has filed a complaint in Malpe police station, saying that unknown thieves forced themselves into the house of his younger brother, Junior D'Souza, and stole things worth Rs 2.1 lac when the family members were away.

It is reported that Junior D'Souza residing at Kemmannu Hampankatte is employed abroad. His wife, Irene D'Souza and son, Joy, live in the said house. Junior D'Souza was to return home from abroad on November 7. To receive him, his wife and son had locked the house and left for Bengaluru. Between 10 pm on November 8, 2021 and 6 am on November 9, thieves forced open the front door of the house with some instrument, and stole gold ornaments worth Rs 1.8 lac kept in an almirah and a flat television set valued at Rs 30,000.

Malple police have registered a case based on this complaint, and taken up investigation.

    I did not understand why people are not learing from daily such issues. Why are they going out leaving valuable at home. Its need not to say that such theft is being carried out by known persons only or they are arranging it through professional thieves by providing information. Please should never leave any cash or Gold at home while they go out. Hope Police will catch the thieves and all valuable items will be recovered soon.
