Mangalore: Campus Front of India Observes National Education Day


Mangalore, Nov 13: The Campus Front of India, Mangalore district observed National Education Day, recently.

On the occasion, Reeta Noronha, researcher, department of social work, Roshni Nilaya inaugurated the district office of the front.

M Shafi, campus front district president welcomed the gathering and presented his introductory notes. Later Thousif Ahamed campus front district vice-president honoured the guest by presenting mementos.

“All students possess tremendous potential. But they have to utilise it in a right way” said Prof Rita Noronha, educator in Community Development Studies, Roshni Nilaya, School of Social Work.

She said success of a students’ organization lies in its attitude and agendas. “An ideal organization will always uphold the constitutional values such as justice, equality, liberty and fraternity”, she said adding that students should compulsorily understand the deep rooted meaning of these words.

“Students should always have a vision enriched with values and idealism”, she said.

Rahmathullah, Principal of Badriya Pre-University College urged the members of Campus Front to work according to the principles of Indian Constitution, which upholds secular values. “Students should cultivate secularism to tackle the menace of communalism”, he advised.

Shah Amir, campus front state committee member, said campus front is not just an organization but is the leading party of students who had taken an initiative of students movement towards social change. He also mentioned that there are more than 100 student in the organization all over India but unfortunately all are working for political benefits and no one is concerned about threats to education in India, only campus front is concerned towards this since it is an independent students' movement which is working for the welfare of the whole society with an motive of social change.

At the end of the programme an oath was taken by all to strive for social change.

Harshraj Gatti, member of People's Union for Civil Liberties, Shah Amir Kolar, state committee member, Campus Front of India,
Rahmatullah, principal, Badriya First Grade College and Anwar Sadath, chairman, Creative Foundation among others were present.

The front held the programme as part of nationwide awareness campaign to ‘Save Public Education’  to commemorate the birthday of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, who was the first education minister of India, which is being observed as “National education day”
